But somehow the vital connection is made (Elastica)

I met an amazing part of me on Saturday named Laurier Tiernan. Great musician (singer/songwriter [ http://www.myspace.com/tiernanonthetopten ]) and human being. And very similar to me. I stayed the weekend at his house and we played music day and night for two days.

He has completely reaffirmed for me that I own music and "lead it around like it's [my] bitch." Actually, I may not have truly known that before. But I feel like I'm a better musician today. It's amazing to find someone who listens to my lyrics, appreciates the chords I use, and truly believes in me. Really, he's already a best friend to me.

He told me to write at least 2 songs a month [to start]. I haven't written in a year and 10 months. I wrote one tonight and started a second.

I'm starting to realize the power of the mind. I feel like I've entered this new phase of logic and empowerment. As Henry Ford says, "Whether you think you can or can't, you're right." Maybe it's turning 25 that has flipped a switch in me. Like when Doc Brown throws the green log in the boiler to make the train speed up. My brain has gone into the next gear. And I like it.

In addition to my new boost of confidence and inspiration, Laurier booked me for 2 gigs in Tokyo. One on Sept 21 (Fri) and Nov 17 (Sat) [and Jason's birthday!]. My life just got good. And better is around the corner. GSP says so.
