We had our last Creative Writing class today on the topic of publishing. Matthew said it's harder to find an agent than to get published. So my goal is to go through The Novel & Short Story Writer's Market (which I just bought on Amazon), send queries (letters asking if they want to be sent a manuscript) to agents, and when I find the right one, just let him do his thing in finding the right publisher.
I have a lot of story ideas, and a few I've already done.
One of my concerns is that I'll finally be in a position to make money from writing, and my brain will switch gears on me. I can't control what mode I'll be in. But the thought of getting an advance just to sit alone and put words together sounds appetizing. Sounds better than music. But if I can write while I'm doing music, I think I'll be okay.
