A muffled gasp of surprise, some clever footwork, the creek of a door and the swish of a curtain was all it took and he finally had her alone, shutting the rest of the world out and away from them.
“Robin,” Marian whispers her tone admonishing but a smile on her face, lighting up her clear blue eyes as she gazes at him. “You should not be here, Gisborne is in the castle, if we were caught…”
“We won’t be.” He says confidently with an easy charm, winding his arms around her.
“You can’t know that.” Her tone is downcast and she looks away from him biting her lip and furrowing her brow.
“I can and I do.” He smiles as he cups her cheek with his hand and brings their lips together gently.
When the kiss breaks she is smiling again, they both are.
She was right, it was risky meeting in the castle but to him she was always worth the risk.
