He couldn’t look Gisborne in the eye, couldn’t face the brutal man who had ruled his lands in his stead.
The other man smirked and Robin looked away, averted his eyes from the monster he saw lurking in the depths of Guy’s dark eyes.
Looking at Gisborne was like looking into a twisted mirror, an echo of himself from long ago, best buried and forgotten, a warped ghost of what he could have become.
His father’s death had changed him, made him a better man, the same twist of fate had changed Gisborne too, for the worst not the better.
