The frivolity of the evening seemed at odds with the blackness of Robin’s mood.
The new Sheriff callously ordered him to oversee the execution of his peasants, accused him of being weak, this was not the home he had imagined returning to.
Maybe it was foolish to assume that it would remain unchanged when he knew that he was not the same man who had left those years before.
It was foolish to imagine that her feelings for him would remain unchanged. Looking at Gisborne’s smirk he knew he hadn’t retired from the battlefield, he simply faced a new one.
