I am completely obsessed with knitting. I'm not sure how it happened. I went very quickly from "hmm maybe I'll give this a go" to all out crazed yarn whore. It doesn't make a lot of sense. I tried yarn dying for the first time the other day. I wanted a particular color and yarn weight for a project and couldn't find it in my price range. I'm making Brooklyn Tweed's Habitat Hat which is a study in cabling insanity. I love it. It is an amazing and intricate pattern. Now I've done cables before (they are super easy) but never from a chart. The chart for this is CRAZINESS, mostly because the finished product is craziness, but I figured it couldn't be any crazier than a lace chart ( Read more... )

I just finished my second Noro scarf. I love this pattern; it's so easy to carry along with me since it is pretty mindless knitting and I can put it down at any point with out having to worry about finishing a row or marking my place in a pattern.
