okay, so if you have a zombie coming at you, you shoot it in the head or somehow sever it's spinal cord.
i get that.
but why hasn't anyone developed a virus or something that eats dead tissue?  Just carpet bomb the larger hoards and the living people would be fine. 
seems simple enough to me.
