I've made a few more Natasha beads and I'm noticing that if I'm tired or not concentrating enough, it is really a pain to get the mirror images to match up. Having replaced my X-acto with a proper tissue blade, the cuts are more even, which helps ( Read more... )

Okay, I'm sorry, I got ganked away by faculty or else I'd have been more helpful. Sorry.

I think the two big draws would be (1) an emphasis on indigenous wildlife, wildlife unique or distinctive to the area and (2) family events, as motteditor touched upon, something a young family might be interested in. Cider's good.

But I'm the wrong person to ask. Outdoors is scary.

I tend to like the traditional programs, though I suppose they don't really get me out (it's one of those things I always think would be fun but never get around to doing).

I think the one I'd be most likely to go to would be autumnal hay rides, maybe followed by mulled cider. Maybe stargazing.

Wildflower walks. Birdwatching walks. Nature walks. Plant exchanges. Programs about local wildlife. Programs about local history or how early settlers would have used locally-found resources to make everyday living items. Then again, our local botanical garden here has concerts every weekend during the summer, so it doesn't always have to tie in directly with nature, I suppose. :-)
