Getting Engaged and Running Off to Scotland (Unrelated Joys)
Oh, Livejournal, I miss you. I sort of feel like you are Sharon Cherski, and I know things are really weird because I have been hanging out with Rayanne (Facebook) and Rickie (Twitter) all the time, and they're super cool, and they understand like, my needs, attention-span wise, or whatever that means. You know? And I'm trying to get closer to Jordan (Tumblr?), because he's a dreamboat.
And you know what, Livejournal, you've changed too! With your restrictions on how many entries I can read on my friends page and your ever-encroaching ads. You're like a sheep in a herd of profit-nonviable websites trying to stay afloat in, like, a sea of mediocrity, but you're like drowning already and you don't even know it. And I see you looking at me all smug, like you know that Rayanne is going to get a book deal with Jordan, and I'll never crack 500 followers with Rickie.
...sigh. Can we just do that scene where we fight and then cry in the bathroom and then become friends again before Social Networking gets cancelled?
ANYWAY! News of note:
1. I am engaged! To get married! To Collin! It's wonderful and exciting and thinking about spending our lives together makes me feel warm inside. I am considering starting a separate blog to blah blah blah about wedding/marriage planning, so stay tuned for that.
2. I am going to Scotland tomorrow! I can't wait to see Regina, and to a much lesser extent, visit a new country. I haven't been abroad since the first Bush administration!
So with two very different, very exciting, and very happy things happening within a few days of each other, I'm going to predict this may be on the short list for best week ever.
