Exhaustion, an excellent motivator!

I'm assuming I actually know what the term 'productive' means.

PRODUCTIVE:
  • Finished off the first draft of The Novel, tentatively called 'The Deadroads' after a Rural Alberta Advantage song.
  • Scripted out the storyboard for the video shoot for the exhibition.
  • Finished editing all the damn text for the exhibition.
  • Looked after the recording of the audio ( Read more... )

I can't remember some days. Lookit you, all being on LJ and whatnot. JM hasn't read the last couple of chapters. I think I'm in trouble.

I'm sorry, sorry. I have read them and they're great. Your usual great, not the grab you by the throat great of Chp 17, so... really good? Sorry for not getting back to you.

I also fail at networking. Went to screening of one of the films I worked on last year and who should sit down next to me? Peter Deluise. He was apparently mentoring one of the other directors. I was biting my tongue so hard to prevent "I'm such a fan" slipping out - that I completely forgot to mention 'I have this script...' Damn it.

Well, that's better than 'they suck', LOL. So funny, Lemmy thought chapter 17 blew. Or was boring, or something. I can't please you both!!!

As for Peter Deluise. Well, his DAD JUST DIED. What were you supposed to say? And if you had given him a script, then you would be now kicking yourself for doing it. Networking is about building relationships when you don't need anything. Then, you make the ask when you already have a relationship.

It's all about being...friendly. God, I make it sound easy, don't I? I could tell you a story about totally blowing an op with Guy Gavriel Kay, except it's too mortifying.

You're right, of course. I remembered about his dad, too, later. Next time.

Yeah, that's it.

Working on my web site instead of writing. Oh well. See post about productivity.

Not all writing is frantic typing. I would count the website work as productive.

It's not frantic typing?! Hell.

The web site's looking damn good. Now, if only the novel was in as good shape. Dang.

It's noodling, that's what web site work feels like.
