I'm assuming I actually know what the term 'productive' means.
PRODUCTIVE:
- Finished off the first draft of The Novel, tentatively called 'The Deadroads' after a Rural Alberta Advantage song.
- Scripted out the storyboard for the video shoot for the exhibition.
- Finished editing all the damn text for the exhibition.
- Looked after the recording of the audio

I also fail at networking. Went to screening of one of the films I worked on last year and who should sit down next to me? Peter Deluise. He was apparently mentoring one of the other directors. I was biting my tongue so hard to prevent "I'm such a fan" slipping out - that I completely forgot to mention 'I have this script...' Damn it.

As for Peter Deluise. Well, his DAD JUST DIED. What were you supposed to say? And if you had given him a script, then you would be now kicking yourself for doing it. Networking is about building relationships when you don't need anything. Then, you make the ask when you already have a relationship.
It's all about being...friendly. God, I make it sound easy, don't I? I could tell you a story about totally blowing an op with Guy Gavriel Kay, except it's too mortifying.
