What does "comfort" mean to you?
Comfort means being able to come home, in 'Haven, knowing I'll be able to sleep that night. It means knowing everyone is safe. Unfortunately, being a vigilante in a tough life to live-- you're seldom ever safe. You always have someone breathing down your neck, just waiting for the moment to strike, and you always have criminals causing problems all over town, thinking it's fun. (They usually change their mind when I give them a good kick or two.) You just have to take comfort in knowing your teammates and allies have your back, and that if you're in trouble, they're going to be there.
A lot of the time, comfort is rescuing a citizen in need-- whether they're being robbed, trapped in a burning building or getting the lights knocked out of them... You get one of those warm, fuzzy feelings knowing you helped an innocent person out of trouble and that they're at home, safe with their family now.
Comfort is also one of those few times when you're with your loved ones, just enjoying the moment. It's when you know you don't have anything to worry about, no goons there to ruin it, and just being with them makes you feel good-- able to relax. It's too bad we hardly get that chance to kick back and spend time with them like that.
But... maybe someday. I have to keep my hopes up-- but I'm not ready to quit being Nightwing just yet.
