Good movie, dumb overexertion...

I didn't do any art today. I did my laundry... this is the first time I've done my own laundry since ... wow, since my second surgery at all. And I was not keeping up very well with it after my first surgery either. Living here, I've had a lot of help with it from kkitten42, so it's not as if I'm slobbing and living in filthy clothes. It's more that today, ( Read more... )

Yay for your progress! That's so fantastic! I hope your back feels better soon. I recovered from my back sprain ages ago but I still get back pain if I stand too long -- I think bending over the kitchen sink is the worst.

Yikes. Yeah. I can't do that any more, it's become impossible. Used to, but it's now way, way beyond me. It was a big deal bringing my laundry into the bathroom and flinging it in the machine, plus getting the soap in and all. I got it out though, it's now all sitting in the basket for when I feel better. Good feeling having everything clean though!

Yeah, it's satisfying to know that it's all done and you can relax because you don't have to wonder what you're going to wear tomorrow 'cause you're onto your last clean work shirt. Mind you, my husband is allegedly meant to do the laundry, so I just plaintively ask him what he expects me to wear to work.

Yeah, I know that feeling all too well. It might be shirt, might be whatever, but it's something that's down to that last funny looking one that you never wear.

Congratulations!

For me secret to washing dishes or any kitchen work, is to sit on a tall stool. I have one that glides easily across the floor, so I just nudge it to wherever I need to be. Actually, the real secret to washing dishes is to use the dishwasher...

I still need Kitten and HeraldoftheAbyss to do it, haven't been able to for years. Sitting on a hard stool is as hard on my back as standing, so it wouldn't help me. But I'm glad it works for you!

Who's talking about sitting on something hard? Mine has a contoured seat, a foot rail, and a comfortable cushion...

Ahhh, that sounds great! I hadn't neen stools with rails though I've seen them with cushions.
