So, I feel kind of bad for something, but then again, I don't. A guy has been coming into my work for the past few months, and he was kind of annoying, but I was as nice as possible to him. Apparently too nice. He started coming in ALL the time, talking to me, trying to convert me to Catholicism. Then it just got weird. He started commenting on how "beautiful" my eyes were and stuff. Like... every single time he saw me. He would say that I was his "favorite." That "there's just something about you, and I don't know what it is." Then it got really weird. He came in last night, and since he notices EVERYTHING about me, I told him that I was surprised that he didn't notice my freckles on my face from tanning (I was being sarcastic when I said it). He said that I didn't need to worry about that because "you're a very well-figured woman, and when men come in, they don't notice your face, they notice something else." WEIRD. CREEPY. "So your freckles are the least of your worries. i'm Catholic so I can't dwell on that stuff, but I'm not dead, I notice."
This guy is like... 53 and creepy. So, I don't like being at work at night because he ALWAYS comes in. And he doesn't leave for a like an hour.
Then before he said that about me, he walked in and said, "Now I know what kind of car you drive so I know when you're working..." Weird.
Anyway, I told my manager what he said, and he said that he was a creepy old man who preys on younger, vulnerable women. He even mentioned a couple weeks ago (before I said anything to anyone) that (since he saw his receipt) I could just call the cops if I want him to leave. I didn't because I felt bad. My manager said that I needed to tell him to leave because it was sexual harrassment, and that I need to tell him that he isn't allowed to come back. I didn't want to because he could decide to go REALLY creepy and try to get back at me.
So, Jason came and sat with me all night tonight at work so he wouldn't come in and freak me out. And Ryan next door was there, too, so I knew I would be fine. Well, he came in. Anna was outside washing down the windows (it was so beautiful outside!!!). Anyway, Jason went next door (you can walk from my store into the next store without going outside) and told Ryan (Ryan or Anna was going to tell him that he wasn't not allowed to shop at GC anymore), then Ryan walked outside and told Anna. After he (creepy guy) walked out, Anna walked by the door and confirmed that it was the right guy, then ran after him and said he wasn't allowed to come to GC anymore. He, of course, asked why, and Anna just told him that there were some inappropriate comments made and that was all he needed to know. Then Jason stayed until work was over and came home with me. He didn't like the fact that this guy was saying that kind of stuff to me, either. And he's even talked with the guy, so it's not like he didn't know him or anything.
I feel bad that we asked him no to come back to the store, but I am relieved a bit. I tried hiding in the back when he came in because I felt incredibly uncomfortable with him. The only problem was that I close most nights by myself, so yeah... a little hard to ignore the other customers.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on that. Did I just overreact? Was what he was saying inappropriate? He would NEVER say stuff when other customers were there, he would just wait until they left. I am just afraid he is going to call or come back in or something... no idea. He just gives me the creeps. Now the guys next door are going to watch me at night to make sure I get to my car alright and stuff...
Anyway, so that was my night... lol...
