National Lampoon's The Legend of Awesomest Maximus  is a mash-up of Gladiator, Troy, The 300, Xena and Braveheart (yeah, one of these things is not like the others, but there you are.).  It's stupid, it's offensive, and it's funny. I wouldn't have said that this movie "makes fun of gay men" any more than I would say "Birth of a Nation" makes fun of black people.

Granted, I only made it through 15 minutes.
