Women need the personal interaction of the phone, we like to hear our loved ones voice, and while chatting online might work a lot of the time, it doesn't work for most of us in the long run. It creates a barrier. You can't read an inflection. When you tell someone you love them in text, it's TEXT, words on a screen, it's the inflection of the words when you say them that make them so special.
that is true too, I can't remember how many times I have been IMing with someone and completely miss read how they were feeling. That can turn very bad.
On a more serious note, you make a good point, and it's precisely why I don't know if I would ever be able to have a long distance relationship. Forget hearing them, I need to see them.
I have occasionaly made exceptions, though, when someone (friend or more) has been away for a while. And then there's my friend Kim who I don't mind talking to on the phone. I don't really know why, but it doesn't bother me.
So anyway, I think the moral here is that I'm a weirdo when it comes to phones.
And that is such a mature comment. If you're going to tell someone you love them you should mean it, otherwise you aren't mature enought to even use the words.
