Here's a list of happenings/ramblings, important or not, that I'd rather not take the time to write out. Yeah, I'm lazy, but it's mostly 'cause my hand is swollen stiff with poison ivy and it's painful to type.
- As I said, the reenactment was a joy, but there's been a lot of irreconcilable drama that's been perpetrated against our unit. Things are coming to a head, and I'm not sure if there's any end in sight to the bad blood.
- I'm becoming more and more disgusted with the real-world politics. I am completely content with being proud of my candidate, but I'm not going to get all pissy just because someone is supporting the other. It's ridiculous! We are on the same freaking side, people. Get your shit together! I'm tired of all the snide inter-party comments lambasted across Facebook. I'm pissed at hearing that people will defect to the conservatives if so-and-so isn't the nominee. This is not the time for divisiveness! For once, can't we have a gentlemanly inter-party bout, prise the victor and pat the defeated on the back in amity? Sadly, it is not looking to be the case. This is why the American Left will always fail: Conservatives rarely splinter, as they are rarely idealistic; however, Leftists will factionalize and throw away their votes out of principle. The path is noble - the practice, in this system, is ill-conceived.
Consider the
Reichstagswahl, 5. März 1933. The National Socialists never won a majority of seats, but because their opposition was split into so many factions, they were able to take control of the Reichstag by having the largest bloc. Take notes, America...if things keep going the way they do, you might see me sporting a
Spartacist armband this November.
- I went all the way down to the new National to see
Old Crow Medicine Show, and as soon as I got there, it had sold out. Instead, I went to say hi to someone at The Corner Café, made a Mojo's raid with
slownumbers and got to talk things out with Dana, get excited about music with Liz, and be totally jealous at Caroline and David for getting to see OCMS...
My David was supposed to come out too, but I think we're gonna try and catch up today or tomorrow.
I also stopped over at Caliente after Mojo's to say hello to Corner Café friend again.
- I never have a problem choosing between the Right Path and the Easy Path - it just sucks when taking the Right Path might hurt someone's feelings.
- This has never come up before in my weblog, nor will it ever again. I can't even believe I'm mentioning it, except for the fact that it only goes to further my opinion that mainstream America is comprised of a Blithering Idiot Majority [or BIM, for short]. In passing [and I'm almost kicking myself for stopping to read this], I heard that
the hot girl with talent and an actual personality got booted from that
miserable excuse for a popular television show. I almost held a glimmer of hope for society while she was still in the running, but now I'm thoroughly convinced that only BIM members participate in/follow that garbage.
- I also never have a problem trusting people, but I never knew how angry I could get when a once-complete trust is partially lost.
- I act unnaturally nicer to people in the morning if I've had sex the night before.
- I have to set up lights for
Chad & Jeremy, but I'm really not motivated. I'd rather be walking around the city, enjoying the weather. I've propped the door next to my office open, but it's not quite the same.
- I think I need a night off from the world tonight.
Ironically, sore hand or not, this is still a pretty long entry.
