Yes, I did watch Captain America again last night. Steve Rogers' FACE. Peggy o' my heart! And hello, Bucky Sebastian Stan, you bastard!, get in my bed! And why is no one writing stories about the Howling Commandos fighting with Captain America and getting drunk every night and having arguments about everything under the sun, from philosophy to ( Read more... )

This is one of those series that I recommend enthusiastically, whether you like zombies or not. Because really, it's less about zombies and more about how people change when the world falls apart, and how you find family in the most unexpected places. The zombies have names and dreams and prejudices and loves and regrets, just like humans, and they get to be real people, which I haven't seen in any other books about zombies. For that alone, I would read these books.

The first book is from the point of view of a zombie girl, Jessie, who is honestly one of my favorite fictional characters, while the second book is told from the point of view of a human teenage girl, Amy. The series itself is building up to something big and world-changing, and the mystery of what's going on is as compelling as the rest of the story.

I will say, though, if you're squeamish, you should know that there is a lot of talk of rot, decomposition, etc., and that which comes from dead bodies. For what it's worth, I'm incredibly squeamish about bodily functions, and neither of the books bothered me at all.

And thank you for the well wishes! I am feeling better after some rest and tea. ♥

That sounds really, really interesting! I am pretty squeamish when it comes to pictures and films, but usually less so when it comes to books.

I've added the series to my to read-list and will look for it the next time I go book-shopping (very soon).

Tea makes everything better!!
