Run Away As Fast As You Can.

Almost slipped and broke something, like, eight times on the way to work because the city has not yet cleared and salted the slush off the sidewalks. And I did not wear the grippy things for my shoes today because I was dumb enough to think it wouldn't be that bad out today. And then I spent ten minutes wandering around on the fifth floor, looking ( Read more... )

Fuck this winter shit, honestly. I usually don't mind it too much, but i have been trapped in my house for two freaking weeks and we still have MONTHS of this to go.

I generally dislike winter for its inconvenience, but around January/February, it morphs into outright hate and depression. I just want this shit to be over with so I can go back to having a life not centered around 18 layers of clothing, thanks.

Sorry that you almost maimed yourself on the way to work today. But if you'll give me a choice, I'll take snow and ice over the miserable wet and gray, just above freezing weather we are having right now.

I watched the 2-ep pilot of The Cape because I love Richard Schiff and I'll try anything he's in, but I ended up fast-forwarding through most of the show, so yeah, not for me.

Honestly, I hate all weather that involves rain, snow, and gray skies. I need sunshine in my life, all the time!

I'm only watching this show for Keith David, and so far, I am intrigued with the world-building, but disappointed in the protagonist. If he doesn't get more interesting soon, Keith might not be enough to keep me watching.

You can make it! You have cute socks and stripey underwear! The power of cute undergarments will save you!

Also, I thought the exact same thing about The Cape. Shut up, lead guy! No one cares about your manpain. Also also, more Gregor, please. (did he die? I wasn't sure because I was fast-forwarding a lot. :x)

I could deal with the manpain a little better if he was at least charming or funny, but no. All serious intensity ALL the time. It gets old fast.

As far as I can tell, Gregor is in jail, not dead, so more Thomas is a possibility! :-****

SO old. I just kept rolling my eyes over and over. Also, every time someone talked about The Cape and its power, I snorted, because, god. So ridiculous. Superhero things are kind of hard to take seriously. Unless it involves Fassbender, apparently. :x

Gregor can not be held in jail! He's a bad guy but at least he's interesting. And hot. :B

I generally find superhero stories ridiculous, but in a good way, you know? It's just that you have to care about the person behind the costume and so far, the show hasn't given me a real reason to care about Vince beyond feeling bad for his family living in the aftermath of what happened to him. Plus, he suffers from the I Know Better Syndrome that most protagonists do, and it's a little irritating to see him shrug off good advice because he's convinced he's right. He isn't sympathetic enough for me to be on his side with this. :\

No prison can hold Gregor for long! It's canon. :D

The only thing that got me watching The Cape is Summer Glau. So far, like you, Orwell and Max Malini (which is a great name, except that I always confuse him with Max Martini, which ends in disappointment; one's a great actor, the other just a character) being wonderful are the only things keeping me watching the show.

Is it just me, or is the guy who plays Vince just a Mark Valley knockoff? I don't know yet if that's necessarily a *bad* thing, but it's definitely a thing, in my eyes.

Summer Glau was a lovely surprise that I didn't know about until I started watching. Malini and her Orwell are the only reasons I am still watching so far.

I actually thought of Vince as Jensen Ackles Lite, with the mouth and the eyes and the jaw.

...Great. Now I'm going to mentally swap out David Lyons for Jensen every time he's onscreen. When I'm not swapping him out for Mark Valley, that is. (If Summer Glau ever guest stars on Human Target, you will be able to hear my shrieking from your couch, no lie. That is, of course, if she gets to fight; I could watch her move for days.)

This show just got a whole lot more bearable watchable for me. *G*

The only reason Summer Glau hasn't guest starred on Human Target is that everyone knows she wouldn't need saving. Maybe she can guest star as someone working against Chance and the gang? Or maybe an assassin with a sense of humor? Anything where they get to make Terminator jokes around her.

(If I could write Human Target, I would request an OC for the Mary Sue Promptfest and write Summer in as some kickass ninja-like adversary for Guerrero.)

Seriously, the only thing that keeps me going when Vince is yammering on about everything is imagining him as Jensen's older brother. Also, I find him ridiculously attractive when he goes into cop mode, but not when he's in Superhero Cape mode. I have no idea why.
