I am quite addicted to online fiction. This I do not try to deny. That being said, there are a few things about it that I absolutely HATE. The majority of these are grammar-related

I don't know why people think that bitching is bad. Thew world needs people like us to keep the idiots in line.
But to defend myself, I must point out that I used "phrase" instead of "word" because, the way that the author in question intended it was as a phrase. Having taken more than a couple of English courses, I am actually slightly aware that "common," when not a really odd spelling of "c'mon," is a word, rather than a phrase. :P
Ahah, I like that response. You're absolutely right. I like being able to justify my bitchiness. XP
Neh, it's still odd bits and pieces that stick out. It's like seeing a really long run-on sentence that lasts for three paragraphs. You can't help but obsess over it. Some people (and if I'm in a bitchy enough mood) will copy it to a Word Processor and clean it up themselves just for self-justice.
Sometimes you've just gotta point out that loose end or it'll drive you nuts for the rest of the day, y'know?
And besides, I'm the worst when it comes to criticizing other people for grammar/spelling/stupid mistakes in writing.
I used to have a blog dedicated to it, but I was afraid of doing something really stupid and hypocritical on it, so I just stopped.
Also, figured I might as well be writing my own sheet instead of criticizing others about it. =P
Haha, I do something similar with typos. When I see a piece that is simply filled with them, I want to fly into a rage, until I reread my own work and realize that I'm probably the worst person in the world to complain.
Plus, you know, I'm actually a really passive-aggressive person and I can't call 'dem bitches out. I just rant on my LJ and make general statements instead! :D
Nyeah, I'm a bit of a perfectionist like that. I edit for mistakes constantly as I write, so it's not so bad - plus, I'm not bad on my own to begin with. But I always reread it at least twice (just to assure myself that it's actually good enough for other people to read so they don't go, "Wow, waste of my time", I'm so bad with the self-esteem stuff), and then after I put it up, I read it on the site format to make sure I've got everything I need to. Guaranteed at least six errors I didn't catch the first time.
When I see other people with blatant errors that even MS Word would catch it just pisses me off.
I do the same thing, but to actual people. I have one friend who insists I rant at him because he finds it hilarious how worked up I get. =/
