tell me how this is my fault? (kind of long)

i bank with washington mutual, at least for now anyways, and i've had an account with them...since at least 2003 or 2004. This past april, i opened a second account that had mine and spencer's name on it. we both were to receive debit cards for that account. as you may know, the pin# and the debit cards come seperately in the mail. spencer got his pin...a few days later he got his card. i got my pin...but no card. i waited the alloted 7 to 10 business days and then called their 800 number. it's been at least two weeks...i tell the girl "i just checked the mail and i still haven't recieved my debit card". you know what she says to me right after i say that?...i'm not kidding about this either...she says "have you checked the mail yet today, it might be there." are you fucking serious!? she tells me to wait a few more days, but throughout the whole conversation, she asks me if i've checked the mail yet another two times.
so i wait...a few weeks later i still haven't gotten it. i'm not too upset about not getting it, the account was set up for spencer, i'm just worried that someone stole it or something. so i call them back, thankfully this girl was a bit smarter (or so i thought). she cancelled the first card that i never recieved and she was sending out a replacement for me. ok, that's great.
i finally get my debit card...i stash it away in my wallet, with no intentions of using it.
just a few weeks ago, i went to Fred Meyers to get beer, food, whatever else we needed that night...and spencer tells me to use my debit card for his account. ok great. so i get to the cashier and pay for everything (i did it as credit cuz i couldn't remember the pin having never used it before)...$33. i get home and let spencer know.
a few days later there's a charge on my account from Fred Meyers for $33...that's weird i swear i used the other debit card. i didn't have the recipt anymore, so i couldn't be sure. maybe i did use mine and not the one for his account...whatever, no big deal.
we decided at this point to make "his" account a joint account since my name was on it anyway, i transfered my money to our account, but waited to close my old account until i was sure my direct deposit would be going into our joint account. there was maybe $60 left in my old account.
well... this last wed. we went shopping at winco, spent $101. and i used the debit card for our joint account...i know i did, i have the receipt to prove it. thursday i get to work and have an email saying my account balance is lower than it should be...i go check it. the $101 was deducted from my account, not the joint account. so my account overdrafted and i got charged $32 for it. what the fuck is going on here?
i call the 800 number again...they tell me this:
the girl who said she was sending a replacement debit card when i didn't get the first one for the account i opened in april set it up so the card i got was attached to my account, not spencers.
i know this is totally confusing, but basically they sent me a debit card attached to one account when it was supposed to be attached to another...
so i called and asked them to reverse the overdraft charge...she did it, but she tells me "since this is partially our fault and partially yur fault". i don't think so lady!!
how was it my fault? i didn't know the card was linked to my account. it was supposed to be linked to spencers account.
fucking idiots!!
