Been a busy week for inventions :-)
As L posted the other day, JJ has been licking a wound on his leg (constantly) and tearing off bandages. She showed me a picture of an item on the internet called the Hock-Sock for dogs who gnaw on hot spots on their legs.... price? $75.00 + Went to the laboratory, dug out the sewing machine and rummaged through a dive box to find an old (no longer useful) neoprene bag used for dive gear, some paracord, fabric, and some velcro.
Invention 1, The Harry-Hock 3000 Made with some paracord to prevent removal, an interior liner, neoprene and velcro. Anatomically correct for the hock and heal of a very large Canis lupus familiaris.
JJ isn't exactly HAPPY about the whole thing, but he deals with it and doesn't try to pull it off like he does with the vet-wrap.
Next up, Invention #2 The brass-o-nator: Was getting tired of hand polishing brass cases after they came out of the sonic cleaner. Used pieces from an old rock-tumbler from when the kids were younger and added a cotton wheel and some para-cord as a drive belt. Some minor tweaks to tighten the belt would probably help but it does work.
Invention #3 the Rifle-Rotisserie for annealing brass rifle cases. Made with some plumbing parts and a 7/8 socket, spun by a cordless drill. Works like a charm and the cases drop right out into a coffee can of water to quench/cool them down.
