Well, first off, tumblr took over my life last fall. So that's my excuse for that. Also, my classes last semester really sucked. They suck this semester too, but last semester was absolutely awful. I also have two part time jobs now, instead of just one.
Now, I have good news, and bad news. Bad news first, right? That's the way it goes, I think.
On Christmas day, my parents and I were almost killed in a car accident. My mom and I were in the hospital for a week, my dad for two. Basically, the car slipped on ice, went into the median, used the emergency vehicle drive as a ramp. We were eight feet in the air for an eighth of a mile at 72 miles an hour. Then we rolled three times before landing upside down. I was able to crawl out of the vehicle. They said that if I had been wearing my seatbelt, due to the fact that the passenger side was caved in, I probably would've died. Police and ambulances had already been called, so I called my brother to get affairs taken care of. I remember the entire accident, and still get flashbacks while I'm in a vehicle. I didn't realize my parents were unconscious in the front seat. I think the worst thing was laying there thinking they were dead and knowing I still had to get out and make phone calls, that I had to move. But I digress. I broke my shoulder blade and my wrist, and separated my shoulder joint (which is different from a dislocation), along with a host of other injuries. There is a possibility I may have to have three different surgeries. I will find out those details Feb 12th. So, writing has now come to a complete standstill. Even when I do have time between work and school, I spend that time resting.
Good news now.
I applied last fall for an internship overseas. I have been accepted, so this summer I will be spending the summer in Japan working as an assistant English teacher in an elementary school in Otsu. I leave May 21st and return July 31st. I also applied to transfer to Michigan State University. If accepted, I will be about two years from my bachelor's degree. I plan to follow that up with my Master's and Doctorate's. I will find out if I have been accepted in about two months.
So what does this all mean?
It means not a whole lot of writing is going to get done for about the next six months, if not longer. And even if it does get done, it might not be in the Harry Potter fandom. I am also a part of the Doctor Who and Supernatural fandoms, and am particularly interested in writing some Doctor Who. But, I still plan on writing. I'm still lurking about lj and various comms. I also just split my time elsewhere.
