Summer

Don't judge me! I know I start thinking about summer way too early. This year wasn't as bad as last year, where I was pining for the summer at the beginning of February. Just now I've started seriously thinking about it, especially since my friends and I have finally planned our camping/cottaging trip.

The last "Best Summer" I had would be the summer of 2007. I was completely carefree, I travelled a fair bit, and I just had fun. The two summers that followed were not as great. I hardly went anywhere and I got a new job that (I felt) I couldn't take any time off with. Anyways, it's been a while, and I've realized that things don't happen unless I do something about them. As well, I've realized that I've worked at my job long enough that my bosses are not going to bite my head off when I ask for time off.

Anyways, that leads me to my point. Now, not only am I going to Colorado for a whole week (I am so excited about this - I hardly visit the states, let alone for so long and in such a magnificent place as Colorado), but I am also going up to one of my favourite Summer Places with my friends to camp as well as stay at one of their cottages. Other things in the works are a visit with my old best friend to visit our other old best friend who moved away a few years back (we visited quite often initially but recently haven't) as well as a day trip to an amusement park (either Canada's Wonderland or Cedar Point, depending).

Not to mention the fact that I'll be volunteering at a farm over a lot of the summer. I might even get a tan! (But that could be asking too much...ha.)
Now I only have to wait three whole months.

life, summer, self, friends
