Lavender didn't really have a clue where she would be able to track down George or Lee, and she didn't particularly want want to bother the Weasley family. Probably the most sensible answer was to owl George himself, but she still wasn't quite sure what she'd say. Both he and the shop meant so much to her, though - it had been hard enough to leave when she had another job all lined up, so to have it gone completely made part of her feel numb inside.
There was someone else, though, and she wondered if anyone had checked up on Verity much. The other witch had even more of a history and connection to the company, to the twins, than she did.
So, armed with a freshly-baked carrot cake that she knew Verity liked, Lavender headed up to Hogsmeade to see if Verity was home. At the very least, she could probably provide a little distraction. Lavender knocked on the door, hoping she was in and careful to keep the cake tin upright.
