It was the first day in longer than Hermione could remember that she managed to get out of work on time. Usually, she stayed until after five finishing up things or organizing her caseload for the following day. Today, though, she'd had a meeting get rescheduled, so she had found herself with a free hour. She had managed to update all her files and spend a little more time working on Pansy's case. She hoped to organize a list of possible invitees to a discussion group by the end of the week, then issue invitations early next week.
The weather was lovely today: warm and sunny without a rain cloud in sight. It was tempting to go to the park and sit to enjoy the weather, but she wanted to stop by the bookshop. It felt like forever since she had been there, even if it hadn't been more than two weeks, and she wanted to buy something new to read at night. She also thought that she might see if there were any books on dancing, so she could prepare for the next lesson ahead of time.
When she entered the shop, she inhaled the scent of leather and parchment, two of her favorite scents. After glancing around the shop, she considered where to start. There were so many choices. She decided to browse the history section first, touching the spines as she looked for something appealing to read.
