After leaving St. Mungo’s, Cho had Apparated to the storefront in Diagon Alley right before its closing time. Although now that she was here, she was having second thoughts. After all, she already knew her good intentions with the letter hadn't been well received. All she had gotten for that was her owl back in a grumpy mood and a short, abrupt reply. She leaned back against the wall of the building, trying to think this through.
She knew Marcus had to be upset after finding out he wouldn’t be playing professional Quidditch. This was a huge disappointment for him. She didn’t know if he even had anyone he could talk to about it. She had gotten the impression his family wasn’t supportive and knew he was a bit of a loner. She and Marcus had seemed to get along fine but she didn’t know if he would even want to talk to her about this. She sighed in frustration, thinking no one should feel that alone. She started pacing, off to the side of the store away from the window.
She had also been puzzled why he had said goodbye in his response. If he wasn’t leaving and they both lived in the same town, their paths would no doubt be crossing again. If he had decided he didn’t want to see her again, well, he could just damn well say that to her face. With that thought, her decision was made and she walked over to the Best Brooms’ entrance. She took a deep breath before opening the door and going inside.
