It seemed like forever since Ron and Hermione had had a really private conversation. Of course they saw each other every day at Grimmauld Place, but in recent months they rarely sat down by themselves to have a chat. Auror training was keeping Ron both busy and tired, and Hermione worked long and hard at Fleur's magical equity society. Plus there was Harry, who was still Ron's best mate, but now he was also Hermione's boyfriend, even if the rest of the world didn't know it. Ron was grateful that Harry and Hermione didn't carry on in front of him; it was a testament to the depth of their friendship for him, he knew, not to mention they were both, generally, very private people. So whatever was going on between them (and Merlin only knew what that might be), they were keeping between themselves. At any rate, the dynamic among the three of them had shifted, and Ron had spent some time recently thinking about that and a lot of other things.
Hermione had agreed to meet him in the Atrium at noon. He had an hour for lunch and hoped that would be enough time for them to have lunch at a little Greek restaurant he'd found in the Muggle area near the Ministry.
