Date: Saturday, April 27, 1999 Characters: Wayne Hopkins, Hannah Abbott, Anyone Else Location: Hawthorne Park Status: Public Summary: Wayne goes to the park Completion: Complete
After the house had been cleaned up and they had ensured they wouldn't starve through the weekend, Hannah took a walk. It was nice to be able to be outside again without freezing any body parts off. Throughout the week, they had been able to take the children out to the school yard and the playground without having to worry that any of the small ones would contract a cold.
She walked aimlessly and finally found herself in the park. She stood with her closed eyes as she decided to find the playground and do a round of swinging; she was just in the mood. She started for her aim when a football rolled in front of her feet. Grinning she looked to whom it belonged and her smile became larger as she found out. She kicked the ball back to Wayne and called "Oy, Hopkins!"
Wayne stopped running when he heard his name. He looked up to see a familiar blonde kicking the football back at him. He caught it with his foot and grinned as he picked it up and walked towards Hannah.
"Hello, Han," he said as he reached her. "How're ya doin? Been bloody ages."
Hannah started lazily jogging on the muddy field towards Wayne. Her old sneakers squeaked as she hit the mud. Good thing, the old pair of jeans was not a piece of work clothes. "I am doing well, Wayne."
She stopped beside him and gave him a hug. "Ages is right. I haven't seen you since..." She tried to remember and gave up after a few moments. "I can't remember. A clear sign that it has been too long." She nodded.
She started to give him a hug, and he said, "Be careful. Got mud on me. Lost my shirt earlier cause I knew I was just going to be making a mess. Figured it was easier to get me clean than it was to clean the shirt."
"Yeah, it's been too long. What have you been doing since classes ended? Still at hospital or did you try something else?"
