Pansy smiled as Neville pulled her to him a little, making sure she was staying dry. It was sort of nice- to feel taken care of.

She shrugged. "I'm not sure. The museum sounds interesting; I've never been to one before. On the other hand, the castle might be less crowded," she said thoughtfully. "Maybe wandering isn't so bad," she finally settled on.

"How were your parents today? Still 'no news is good news'?"

Neville laughed and kissed her head. "You're sort of a girl, with all this not being able to make up your mind," he teased. "Let's do one of the museums first, since it's something neither of us has ever seen before. I think our choices were history or art. Sort of the same thing, if you ask me. I'm not sure why the Muggles put the paintings in a separate place." Neville thought that maybe he'd misunderstood the guidebook.

"Still the same," he really didn't like talking about his parents but it wasn't so bad with Pansy. Sometimes it was even a bit of a relief. "I have a new Drooble's wrapper for my collection. How was your visit with your aunt and brother yesterday?"

She rolled her eyes. "Women are unable to make up their minds?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Well. Considering you are also sort of a girl, I am surprised you were able to make a decision," she winked, running her fingers along his side as they walked, her arm around his waist.

Laughing, she shook her head. "That was a poor comeback on my part. Seems I need to spend less time with Gryffindors."

She nodded. "That's good," she said softly, squeezing him a little. "It was nice, actually. Oren was a brat, but that's normal these days. My aunt and I have become much closer lately. She went overboard with gifts, though," she said. That hadn't been bad, but Pansy couldn't help feeling a little guilty when she hung up the muggle dresses, jumpers, and denims she now possessed.

Neville chuckled. He loved how it easy it was to joke with Pansy. "I don't know, I thought it was pretty good. Then again, I am a Gryffindor." She said she needed to spend less with Gryffindors and he hoped she was kidding. "Tired of me already?" he asked half teasing, half serious.

"It's nice to be spoiled on occasion. Does Oren get his Hogwarts letter this year or next?" He couldn't remember which she'd said.

She shook her head. "Nope. You're stuck with me for at least a little longer," she said seriously. It was odd- knowing Neville was insecure about things made her feel a little better, like they really were figuring this out together. He didn't have all the answers or any grand plan, which was refreshing and nice. She still worried he'd remember her past actions, but after Ron's party was determined not to think about that any more. If Seamus could be nice to her, joke with her and dance with her, anything was possible.

"Yes, it is." She bit her lip, looking up at Neville. "This year. He turns eleven at the end of the month. He's just so...angry. I guess I can understand, but it makes me nervous."

"Good," he said simply. "I like spending time with you, Pansy." They were passing a deep alcove of a shop that was closed on Sunday. Neville steered her quickly into the space which was protected from the rain. She looked surprised, but before she could ask, Neville had bent his head to kiss her. "Sorry, wanted to do that since I came to get you," he said softly.

"Is he angry over your parents or with your aunt? Or is he just being 11?" Neville hoped it wasn't serious, "I thought he got along fairly well with you?"

Pansy squeaked as Neville pulled her into an alcove, but smiled as he kissed her. "I was wondering if I'd ever get a birthday kiss," she said softly, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her lips to his.

So far, their snogging had been wonderful, if a bit infrequent. She knew there was more to dating then kissing, but certainly didn't mind the practice. She parted her lips slightly as she kissed him gently, knowing this wasn't the proper place for snogging but not really caring, either.

"Everyone, I think. And yes, he's being 11 in general, but he's been nastier than usual. We get along well enough, but he's moody."

Neville used the huge umbrella to hide what they were doing from the infrequent pedestrians on the pavement and the autos on the street. "Pansy," he breathed against her lips. Her arms were still around his neck. Instead of pushing him away, they were tightening and she felt so good he had to kiss her again. She was so incredibly sweet tasting and soft and warm. Neville let his tongue come out to play along her lips as his arm that had been holding her to him around her waist, slipped lower and cradled her bum gently.

"We should... 'um, probably move on before someone thinks we're breaking into the shop." He really didn't want to stop kissing her.

Pansy was surprised, but not displeased, when Neville's hands slipped to her bum. She was surprised once more that Neville seemed confident in these sort of endeavors, but supposed dating Ginny Weasley had taught him a thing or two.

She nodded as he pulled away, smiling slyly. "If you insist." Of course, she knew snogging in a public place was very, very inappropriate, but that didn't make it any less fun.

"Well, I don't insist but I do think it's best," he told her honestly. "I'd be content to snog you nearly all day if we were in a better spot for it," Neville grinned as he let her go. Pansy had amazing lips.

"Let's go, Pansy," he wrapped his arm back around her and led her up toward the museum. "Let's try that little cafe up there for lunch. It should be better than the museum tea room, don't you think?"

Neville picked back up their thread of conversation, "I'm sorry Oren was a pain. I had lunch with Hermione at Hogwarts yesterday and successfully managed mashed on my own last night." He squeezed her lightly.

She smiled. "That sounds good. I don't think a tea room would provide the sort of food appropriate for a cold, rainy day."

"Did you? That's great. She sent me a lovely book and voucher for lingerie," she said smiling. "Not that you needed to hear that I'm sure."

They reached the cafe and Pansy let her arm drop from around his waist and took his hand, letting their fingers entwine.

Neville's step faltered a bit when she mentioned lingerie. He wasn't surprised that Hermione had given her that present because Hermione had given the same thing to Katie. He was surprised by how quickly his imagination skipped to what sorts of things Pansy might buy with the voucher. Neville wasn't really the sort of bloke of spent a lot of time imagining things like that, but now that the idea was in his head, he was having a hard time shaking it loose. "You're evil," he narrowed his eyes at her bright smile and chuckled. "I suspect you'll have me wrapped around your finger before I've even realized it's happened."

Neville shook off the umbrella under the awning and wrapped it up before he opened the door for her to enter the cafe. "Oh, something smells really good." She took his hand and he asked the hostess for a table for two near the windows. He liked watching how Muggles got around although he found autos a little intimidating with all their noise and smell.

Pansy laughed. "You knew what you were signing up for," she winked. "I don't fancy having anyone wrapped around my little finger. But now that you mention it..." she bumped her hip into his as they walked. She didn't want someone to eat out of her hand, but knowing Neville was at least effected by her was sort of intoxicating.

She nodded. "Yes. I'm rather starving. Don't think I realized that until just now."

They were seated quickly, and Pansy shrugged her coat off revealing one of the new jumpers Matilda had purchased for her. It was cut in a v, which had been a little confusing at first. The sleeves were long, though, and fell past her wrists, which she found oddly comforting.

Neville laughed. Merlin, he enjoyed being around her. He felt comfortable and good. He felt like himself and he felt appreciated for it. He liked it, like it a lot.

"Ah, that's what that noise was. I thought it was a lorry rumbling nearby," he teased her ( ... )

"Watch it you," she scolded playfully.

She nodded. "My aunt gave it to me. Among other things," she smiled. She reached her hand out and touched the soft wool of Neville's jumper, fingering the material between her fingers. "I like that too," she said softly. "Goes nicely with your eyes."

When the server arrived, Pansy ordered a cup of tea and a water, nodding when he explained the fajitas. "Smells wonderful." The server winked at her, and Pansy raised an eyebrow at him, reaching across the table for Neville's hand.

"I like it because it's soft," he explained.

"I think I'm going to have those fajita things. They smell too good to pass up. They make them for two, if you're interested too, Pansy." Chicken had been pretty hard to come by in Hogsmeade and it really did smell great.

"I was wondering if you'd like to go that Cultural Centre Benefit with me on the 16th? I've donated something for Fleur's silent auction and I'd like to go. I should warn you that Ginny might be there, so I would understand if you weren't comfortable going with me. It's a good cause though and there'll be nice music and dancing." He'd had a nice chat with Fleur when he'd dropped off the Longbottom's Landscapes voucher a couple weeks ago. Fleur hadn't been sure what to tell him except that she did not want him to feel excluded.
