(
Alicia still had work to do, but she had already been in the classroom for too long today. )
She found herself in a quiet residential area she knew a bit.
Blowing air through her teeth, she started walking to the village center. At least she assumed she did.
She just rounded the first corner when she saw Alicia walking a few feet ahead of her.
"Alicia!" Hannah called and quickened her steps to catch up with her. "Hey!"
Reply
"Hannah Abbott! I haven't seen you in a while. How are you?" It might have been months, actually. Alicia had wondered if George and Lee had scared the poor girl off, which would have been reasonable, but still a shame, considering she was such a sweetheart.
Alicia looked around at the houses that weren't student housing, and then back at Hannah, who didn't look so hot. Alicia didn't quite think she could say something about the latter without offending the girl, so she settled on, "What brings you to this side of town?"
Reply
"Ohh." Hannah blushed a little bit. "Classes were horrible and I couldn't stand another climb down to the village. So as soon as I reached the barrier, I apparate somewhere in Hogsmeade and here I am, taking a walk to have some oxygen and clear my mind before I tackle dinner and revision."

She grinned when Hannah explained why she was there. "Gotcha. I remember how much the NEWT-level classes stressed me out, and I wasn't doing it like you are, what with the concentrated classes and everything. Do you want some quiet? Or, well, I was thinking of dinner, too- maybe a drink and some food?"
With her headache dissolving and her mood swinging back around to a good one, Alicia could do with some company- she had all weekend to finish up her work, anyway.

"Dinner sounds lovely." Hannah said and then lightly slapped her forehead. "I need to shop for groceries. Badly." She smiled apologetically. "I had to resort to Hogwarts breakfast this morning because there was literally nothing food related in the house." She laughed about her own stupidness.
Reply
"Oh," she said, chewing on her lip, trying not to laugh. She'd only ever seen Muggle soap-opera stars slap their foreheads like that, and it was entirely too cute. "I'd kill for Hogwarts breakfast most days. Hah. But I can't cook to save my own life, so it's probably different for you. Let's just eat at the pub then, yeah? Unless you just wanted to get that shopping out of the way now."
Reply
"Well, I manage tea and toast or cereals in the morning but before Ernie attended to me, I was helpless. I didn't even manage rice and vegetables without burning them. But I am slowly becoming sufficient in the kitchen." Hannah laughed lightly. "No, I can handle that after dinner. The pub sounds great."

She hadn't received stellar marks herself, but she was lucky to find a fitting career that didn't require much in that sense. She wondered when she started considering it a career rather than a job, but the thought pleased her.
"The pub it is. I could do with something hot and heavy in my belly- the only thing I can really make is overcooked pasta. Shall we walk the rest of the way or Apparate to where it's warm? I'd imagine it's about a kilometer or two from here."
Reply
"Their stews are always good." Hannah grinned. "Let's apparate. Unless you want to have the exercise."
Reply
"Nah. It might look like I need it but I'm not feeling that motivated." She put her hands on her belly through her cloak and grinned. "Ready?" When Hannah seemed to be ready, Alicia Apparated to the pub. She waited for Hannah to appear by her and opened the door for them. "Mmm, it smells like warm chips and ale. I'm hungrier than I thought I was."
Reply
Hannah laughed with Alicia. "I need all my motivation for revising."
She apparated after Alicia, deliberately choosing a destination that was not directly in front of the door of the pub.
"Smells pretty good, doesn't it?" Hannah said as she entered the pub and was to shed her cloak.

They found a table easily, as it was still a bit early for a dinner rush, and Alicia scanned the bar for Roger out of habit, and then laughed at herself for doing so, since it'd been so long since he worked there. She didn't really know how his job was going now, and she felt momentarily like a bad friend for not asking sooner.
She focused on Hannah as they sat down. "It smells pretty great, especially if you're hungry. They have the best bloody sandwiches here, which I didn't know until recently- I always went for the pies and fish and whatnot." A server came over with menus and took their drink orders.
Reply
"Reheated dinner from the day before smells great when you are hungry." She laughed. "Really? Sandwiches? I might have to try those for lunch before I apparate into London. The St.Mungo's cafeteria is not that great when it comes to healthy meals."
Hannah ordered a pumpkin juice and started to peruse the menu.

She laughed and nodded, pleased she had asked Hannah to come eat with her. It beat eating reheated pasta. "Well, the sandwiches here probably wouldn't be considered healthy. But by all means!" she smiled, putting down the menu right after she picked it up, knowing that she had to get a sandwich now that she started thinking about it.
As Hannah looked over the menu, Alicia found herself thinking about earlier in their conversation. "I always thought it was kind of messed up that we're supposed to know what we want to do with our lives right when we get our NEWTs- what does that make you, eighteen with it all figured out?" she shook her head. "I'm in my twenties and if I hadn't run across this job I'd still be a lost shopgirl."

Hannah brushed the issue of healthy off. "Healthy food is overrated." She laughed. "With all the running, I do at the hospital, I could eat roast every meal and still keep my weight."
Hannah was a bit confused when Alicia brought the subject again but she jumped right to it. She nodded in strong agreement. "Yes, I know. I think the same. I like my internship well enough. I mean, I had more fun when I was at the children's ward than now and I was told I am good at what I do, but sometimes I wonder if there is something else, I would love, really love to do and it just hadn't come up yet and I am messing up my chance at it because I don't just screw it all and go find it." She sighed.

She secretly didn't mind the curves she was getting after years of being boy-thin. Oliver seemed to like them, too.
She noticed Hannah's expression and felt bad for changing the subject like that, having forgotten that Hannah wasn't one of her close friends that could follow her train of thought so easily. "Oh! You should go look around, while you have the chance!" she said, getting excited. "You're so young, there's no reason to settle down. I'm one to talk, I suppose, but I did explore some other options. Tried Muggle uni for a bit, made some stupid mistakes. ...Listen to me, giving you advice you didn't ask for. Sorry, I just got excited."
