Neville's latest foray into teaching himself to cook came courtesy of Fleur. He'd run into her while she was shopping on Monday afternoon. She had been buying ingredients for a pizza and it sounded so delicious that Neville asked if she thought a beginner might be able to make one. Assured that it was really very simple as long as you followed directions, she helped him pick out the ingredients and promised to send the recipe. She was right. The dough for the crust had been really simple to make. Neville found kneading the dough to be kind of fun and great for taking out his aggressions. The pizza wasn't his problem, though. His problem was the other recipe Fleur sent along with the filling for a cherry cobbler. He made the mistake of starting to pull things together before making sure he had enough of everything. He didn't. He was short about half a cup of sugar for the crust portion of the cobbler.
He didn't want it to go to waste. Neville considered going out. It wasn't as if he couldn't apparate to the market and back, but he didn't want to have to fight the evening crowd. Katie didn't strike him as much of a cook and he didn't see any lights on next door anyway. He'd still wasn't very comfortable around Morag or Anthony, and he had no idea if either of them or Hannah cooked. He figured his best chance at getting a quick cup of sugar from a neighbor would be from Pansy, Mandy and Susan, two doors down. Neville turned off the oven since he hadn't put anything in it yet anyway and found a measuring cup. He slipped on his shoes and cloak, then because he didn't feel like slipping and falling on his bum, he took the lazy man's way and apparated to the front stoop of #16 and knocked on the door.
