Summary: George does his homework

It was quiet here. George sat in an overstuffed chair in the corner of the day room with a book on his lap. A sheet of parchment rested on it and he was busy writing. He'd been having sessions with Greystone almost every other day now, as his memory grew clearer, and they talked about plans. Plans for the future. George's future. They didn't talk about the shop; that would come when he was ready, Greystone had said. Nor about his relationship with Lee, as uncomfortable as their visit had been.
He paused in his list, chewing idly on his thumbnail as he looked over toward the window. It really had been awkward. He'd wanted to crawl into Lee's lap and hide, but something hadn't let him. Something had stopped him from taking taking taking, and made him sit back just a little. Maybe it had been Lee's questions. Too much, too soon? How are you feeling? What are you doing here? George hadn't known how to answer them.
And now, he still didn't, really. If he had to come up with something, he'd probably say 'working'. He'd worked harder in the last nearly three weeks than he had in his entire life, if you counted emotional blood, sweat, and tears. He wasn't sure he'd come entirely to grips with Fred's continued absence, the destruction of the shop they'd worked for since they were teens, or his growing suspicion that it had been deliberately done, but he was working on it. Working.
He looked down at the parchment on his lap, then shifted and propped it on the arm of the chair. Homework. Greystone had set him a few things to think about. To consider. He tapped his pencil on the page, then made another note. Good ideas? Maybe. But he thought he'd fulfilled the spirit of the assignment, not just the letter.
Stable people I know who won't coddle me:
1-Dad
2-Hermione
3-Oliver
4-Alicia
5-Bill
Things I might want to do that will be just mine:
1-NEWT's
2-Something to make sure Fred's not forgotten (because he can't do it, and I know it's not what you mean, but it's something I need to do.)
3-Keep making people laugh. (see 2)
What I think I can do, if things get out of control and I'm alone:
1-Floo home to Dad
2-Use Joseph's emergency card
3-Owl Hermione
4-Try not to let them get out of control in the first place
Things I need in order to go home:
1-A home to go to
2-See 1
He folded the parchment and tucked it into his book along with the pencil, then got to his feet. It was almost time for lunch, and he actually thought he might be hungry.
