why i hate olin mba students
so i had an mba come in here to see an advisor at 6:15pm. i told him advisors leave around 5 or 5:30 so he'd have to come back tomorrow.
he tells me that he needs his resume approved now or he wont meet his deadlines. i told him i can't do anything about that 15 minutes before we closed.
he tells me his sob story about how one advisor keeps sending his resume back to him to fix. i refrain from telling him that we refuse to let students with crappy resumes apply for jobs. instead, i tell him i'll go see if there is an advisor around for him to talk to. sally tells me she doesnt know anything about MBA advising. i tell him that.
he continues sob story about his f-ing resume. i give him the card of another advisor to talk to.
he gets mad that she isnt here to talk to him NOW. i tell him (again) that the advisors have gone home for the day.
he says that they're supposed to be here for students. i refrain from punching him for being so arrogant.
he then tells me to complain to jim (head of WCC) for him. i tell him fine.
he leaves. i write entry about his stupid arrogance.
what i wanted to say: if you really wanted these jobs, asshole, why the hell are you waiting until the last second to come see someone about it? and does complaining to a BSBA really do anything for you? especially a BSBA that blatantly doesn't care?
