why i like chicago:
-big city
-awesome fireworks displays
-good shopping
-excellent summer weather

why i HATE chicago:
-stupid drivers
-terrible traffic (sometimes created by stupid drivers)
-too expensive
-sketchy people on the L

on my way back from the airport this morning, i almost died. what, may you ask caused this near-death car crash? on the highway? based on my above rant, you'd probably guess "stupid drivers" - but unfortunately, you'd be wrong. so i ask again, why did tori almost die on the highway this morning?

because of ducks. waddling across the road. during rush hour. being too nice to just run them over, i swerved into the shoulder and almost crashed into those pretty concrete dividers.

randomly, do you know how cool it is to sit in the middle of lake shore drive on a sunday night? i was pleasantly surprised to see they'd shut down over half of the downtown area to accomodate the assloads of people there to see the fireworks. riding the L, however, was an unpleasant experience. ten million people crammed into one car was just ridiculous. and, the HEAT was on. wtf? who has the HEAT on, in a subway car, in JULY, on one of the BUSIEST days of the year? wow, the people at CTA are my heroes. but not really.

oh yeah. 'flat top grill' was super cool. not as super fantastico as stir crazy, but good nonetheless. all you can eat stir fry is only $1 more than one helping. and they have soup options. and mooshu. and you can mix and match your meat. and add shrimp. it was excellent.

oh, look. it's lunchtime. later, suckers!

p.s. my new office is much bigger than the old one. only, there's less desktop space. sort of odd. and, instead of a 4th wall, i have a column. lucky, lucky me!
