the slow progression of time is taking a toll on me
i finally feel old
i can see the things that i once dreaded happening
and suddenly it is not so scary
life isnt driving me crazy any more
it is just driving me

onward, to a horizon in the distance
somewhere the wheels will stop turning
and someday the fires will stop burning
and under the ashes will be a finality
something important, something worth it all
