how i met your mother
Well, well, show. That was quite the roller coaster ride, no?
The numbers. I clicked it to it right away in the Dr.'s office. I noticed the 50 and then 49.... It was very distracting. I don't think I even retained half of this episode lol.
I just really wanted to catch them all (missed a few) and desperately wanted to know what the hell it all meant.
Of course, I never really saw that ending coming.
I suspected something when his dad wasn't answering the phone but I didn't think he'd be dead. It was so random and sudden. (which I think is very meta. You never are ready to lose someone. And death is sudden and random.)
So, besides the numbers, what else happened? lol
Robin. Poor Robin. Sandy Rivers was back, yay :) and made her life hell for a bit. I enjoyed seeing all the old stuff and Robin Sparkles is never a bad thing.
It was smart for her to embrace it and become a part of the joke. It takes away their power to mock you, if you're mocking yourself right along with them. <3
The doppelganger Barney was good. It's just so perfect that he'd be a fertility doctor lol.
I loved seeing Ted's Super Bowl gear again. :)
And Ted, seriously? Popping into the hallway, kicking imaginary villains? It is a wonder he ever found anyone to marry him. ;p
Then you get to the end and it's like....what? It was nice of his parents to come see if he was okay, his mother is sooo inappropriate ;p
I was on the edge of my seat when we hit 1 and then...BAM! His dad died. Why did Lily know and not Marshall? Where was his phone? There was a good chance that Lily knew he was with the rest of them, she could have called him on their phones. Or did she just get the call? I'm confused, did they leave NY or did it happen there?
Poor Lily. She looked devastated to tell him and then Marshall.... You could see the shock on his face. I like that he didn't break down in an overly dramatic way, it took him a few seconds to let it sink in and then he started to cry and hug Lily. :(
GAH. What a freakin' sucker punch that ending was.
What more can you say? Poor Marshall and his family. <3
