Oh, crack theory, please be true...
Because I just can't get over how dreadful season four of community is, I've come up with a way to make it make a little more sense. (You know, ish)
So, since the last time community, was Community, we saw Abed in the Dreamatoruim by himself, I've decided that while in there, he found a bag of 'shrooms or some other drug, that Britta left there, and he's in there, tripping balls. He's tweaking out and having a nightmare about Season Four. None of this is real. Just a hellscape he's imagined.
That explains why we've seen little to no interaction between T/B. he wouldn't want to shift the dymanics of the group (VSA, anyone?) so he tried to envision what they'd look like (eps 1-3) and then just gave up and decided that T/B should either break up, only interact when he is not around or just fade into the background. Like, he can't be bothered to envision them anymore, so they stopped being a couple. (or you know, the fucking idiots who ruined my show are airing eps out of order, so T/B may have already imlpoded, we just don't know it yet)
As for J/A, again, going back to VSA, he doesnt' want the dymanics to shift, so if he doesn't have them around each other, they won't get in the way of their adventures. (even though I think Abed likes them) he can't sustain a relationship fantasy for long, so it just drops and get kicked under the rug. (or you know, the writers pretended the past THREE years never happened)
On the horrible plots/oocness/j/b bullshit/other crap- this is all him having a bad reaction to whatever he found or he's trapped in his own mind like in 4.01 and in that fake sitcom in his head (which is SO meta since Season Four has now become that sitcom) he wanted to go back to s1. Hence the idiocy of J/B. I guess things were simpler for him back then.
So all we need to do is bust him out of there, wake his ass up or call up Duncan to heal him, and we can erase the past 8 eps (and I'm sure the entire season) as just Abed's warped imagination. Like the timelines ep.
I'd rather go with this then accept that my show went off the fucking rails for no reason whatsoever and It's getting painful to watch this season. *SIGH*
