the only time to ever wish for a monday

Okay, so I can't stop thinking about B/R. They have invaded my dreams, for cryin' out loud! This hasn't happened in so long. :) I don't want to get my hopes up, since this show has pretty much killed any joy or good feelings I had towards it. BUT. It's so hard not to get a little excited and squee-ful that this is it. We are coming up on the BIG MOMENT for these characters. A moment that quite frankly, I never would have thought we'd ever get too. Mostly, cause I had only seen them dating for a season.

And now we are going to see them get engaged! Holy shit. I still have reservations. The big one is- how the hell is this flattering? how is scamming her into thinking that he is happy with Patrice and over Robin, a GOOD thing? So, he has her convinced that he is done with her, then she what? goes to the roof and he springs the proposal on her and what? She is super flattered that he'd do that? how is this not insulting? Why not just be honest with her and tell her that she's the one for him? I'm sure that what he says will be awesome, etc, etc but if she just accepts right there..I'm sorry but that will darken the whole thing for me. Look at what he has done to her, why the hell should this stupid play work?

So, I came up with another way for this to go down and I hope it happens. It's in character and makes sense.
So. Robin finds the play and goes to see wtf. He reveals his master plan and asks her. She turns him down. I want her to say no to this so badly. Barney is upset, we're gnashing our teeth, etc and she goes to Ted (cause god knows they will continue to shove Ted down our throats in re: to B/R) and Ted tells her about the plan, etc and says that Barney was being sincere. he loves Robin and he wants to spen the rest of his life with her. She thinks it over and goes to see Barney. He apologizes and they finally have an acutal mature conversation. Lay it all on the line. Please say I love you. Then Robin can ask him. Ha. They ask each other (which would be cute) and he says yes, they kiss and happy days!

That way, we are forced to see the moment when Ted let her go (*eye roll*) Barney realizes he never needed a play to get her, just be honest. Robin finally gets that Barney loves her and can make her happy. Then I can hopefully get out of Hate Town with this show. I just think it would be better if they didn't scam each other and just said I love you, will you marry me? No games. No stupid plays.

We'll see. But I'll be glad to get this moment over with. It's eating my brain! B/R WILL GET ENGAGED. Ahhh it's almost getting real to me. ;p Monday, you can get here now.
