The busier I am at work the more deficient I am at being a human being, including responding to personal e-mail messages in a timely fashion or at all. I think I respond to about 1 out of every 6 messages or so from my siblings. Perhaps not the end of the world when they have subjects like "how bored i am" and pictures like the following:

A couple months ago I picked up The Clumber Spaniel by Peggy Grayson and Rae Furness for like $45 bucks from some sketchy antiques site that I found by scouring Google for about an hour. The cheapest that book was on Amazon.com was $299.00 and 218 pounds on Amazon.co.uk.

Time continues to be a bit rough. Grandma passed away on May 28. I flew home on May 29 and have been here since. In addition, my sister lost her job, and Kateri, my constructive sister-in-law, who happens to be an Ojibwa Indian and Canadian and who prior to 1 June could live/work in the U.S. without a green card, has now been denied re-entry into ( Read more... )

I talked to Delia on the phone tonight, which is usually enjoyable because she tells me about school, as long as I ask the right questions, which is actually not that hard to do: I ask her about reading. Out of the blue, James Pustejovsky sent me an e-mail tonight asking me if I've done any work recently on noun-noun or adjective-noun compounds.
