After the day following Lavender's attack, Roger had been busier than he would have liked. He'd have given nearly anything to sort of follow Lavender around and dote on her, but that just wasn't in the cards. He'd had practice that he couldn't get out of, even if the team was ridiculously understanding and concerned about their new photographer.

Then he winked.
"My mother sends her love, by the way." Not that she was his only source, but Lavender probably had them all figured out anyway if she really wanted to.
"But there was practice, and it was my weekend with Lily. She's been planning it for weeks so." He knew maybe he shouldn't bring Lily up so much, should possibly pretend Lily doesn't exist for a little bit while spending time with Lavender, but that didn't seem fair to Lily.

"I think I can forgive you if you finally kiss me," she said after a small pause. It was possible he could fix anything that way.
"Plus, Harry came over with a bottle of whiskey....I barely remember the weekend anyway."

Tugging her hand a bit, Roger pulled Lavender in as he stepped closer. He leaned down to meet her lips in a kiss, light at first. It was more a hello kiss than anything.
When he pulled back barely an inch, he laughed a little. "Whiskey usually does that."

"It was just what I needed, honestly," she told him, pouting. She rubbed her nose against his, feeling more affectionate than usual. Maybe it was the near death experience or the fact that they had gotten over a big relationship barrier. But all she wanted to be close to him. "Though, I can see how this may be more effective...and no hangover is a plus."

He actually reveled in the way she felt in his arms as he pressed his hands to her lower back, holding her close. "Afterglow's better than a hangover." He nuzzled their noses together again, mirroring her. "Hands down." He said it as their lips brushed. "Every time."

"Did you get stronger? You feel stronger."

The fact that it put them in even more contact was a happy coincidence.
"Did you get more gorgeous? I'm pretty sure you did."
Reply
"You only say that because the last time I saw you I hadn't showered in four days," she reminded him, nuzzling into him.

"Or I just say it because you look better all the time." He tilted his head until he could get at her lips in a slow, hot kiss.

"Miss me?" She breathed, pulling away just barely. He was addicting.

"You expect anything less?" He'd never been able to get enough of Lavender, and apparently that wasn't going to change.

Lavender took a step back, groaning.
"I'm baking," she explained, making her way into the kitchen. The room smelled like chocolate, fresh and warm.

When he looked at her again, he was still grinning. "It smells good at least. Don't let baked goods burn on account of me. IT would be a tragedy."

Lavender used to bake all the time, from when she was young. She used to force Roger to try her strange inventions. But being in the road had stalled her hobby.
"Is chocolate fudge chip still your favorite?"

Roger leaned against the wall, watching her pull the cake from the oven. He'd rather have his hands on her, but the way she moved was definitely a good view.
He grinned when she turned around. "What kind of question is that? It's the greatest thing ever."

After placing the dough back in the refrigerator for later she turned off the oven. Baking always calmed her, giving her something to do with her hands. It gave her something to do with her hands and took her mind off the last few weeks.
It didn't take her long though, to find herself moving back towards Roger. He was magnetic.
