That's basically it. At the very least, Abrams will appreciate it's not so easy doing this from the director's chair as it is sitting there watching it.

Nope. I will say this, the man is braver than I thought with his willingness to step up to do this. Lord knows every other director out there (him likely included) knows what the fanbase did to George and the prequels. Anyone willing to step into that snake pit, regardless of what you think of them personally, you have to wish them luck.

Yeah, don't know how to feel. Star Trek and Star Wars will be forever linked now. It's kind of strange.

I heard he was working on Star Trek 3 now. Star Wars may be pushed back to 2016 or later! *bummed about that*

I guess so many directors turned it down, maybe they just jumped on someone who was willing... IDEK.. *shrugs*

Oh they're not going to let Abrams dictate when the film should be released. Disney invested wayyyy too much money into the franchise to not have a new film come PRONTO. 2016 would be the absolute latest ( ... )

Oh, wow, this is all surprising to me. I hear you about the casting of this movie. It's critical. I don't want an 'it' girl of the day or the 'it' guy. It would be so wrong.

I agree, he got it right with Star Trek, he truly did. I knew these actors and had faith they would be Ok. But I don't remember that scene. I'll look for it.

Oh, please no 'Lost' cast members, maybe one but no more than that. I truly enjoyed Lost, but it drove me crazy too, but I stuck with it until the end! *sigh, cried like a baby*

I enjoyed Fringe up until Season 4. I dropped it because it became utterly ridiculous. I did watch the last season, but it didn't impress me. I DVR'd the series finale, haven't watched it yet. I will at some point, I guess.

That is something to hear about Comic Con. He needs to chill. Star Wars has some pretty tough fans. Just look what they did to the prequels, which I didn't hate, btw. I enjoyed most of it.

I truly hope you're right about not pushing back the release date. *crosses fingers*
