This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but I'm about to let out a caged lion, if you're offended, I'm sorry don't take anything that I say personally.
A part of me understands being annoyed at your favorite show. Hell, I bashed the hell out of SV back 1/2 season 6-7 and was apathetic towards it season 8
( ... )
We all go through feeling unhappy with our favorite shows. Some shows more then others. Sadly SV had some rough patches in it that made it one show that would leave a fan with some ill feelings
( ... )
I know that I'm probably a fandom nutcase in a lot of ways. I take the show too seriously in some ways. I'm probably one fan who needs to be reminded that Smallville is mainly about the pretty. Stop complaining, turn off my brain and enjoy. LOL!
I'm a Clois fan but agree with a lot of what you say. Story first for me as well.
There was/is a poisonous atmosphere in Smallville Fandom that can really kill the fun if you let it. Overall there has probably been as much good as bad to take away from my experience. I'm happy about the friends I've made and the great writers, artists, funny people I've been exposed to -- of all Smallville denominations. LOL!
But I will be relieved as well as sad when the show ends. I'll feel set free from the crazy in a way.
You've contributed to my enjoyment of the show in so many different ways over the years! *hugs* Best wishes for all your endeavors post Smallville.
I just wish people would stop focusing on the negative and realize that they're pissing themselves off over the smallest, dumbest things and are missing the final ride. We should be all on a very happy, drunken pleasure cruise enjoying the final journey, instead, I finish watching episodes, come online to see what people think and they're screaming their heads off for the lamest reasons.
This is it. This is the end. Only 6 more episodes left - enjoy what we're getting because there's not going to be another season to think about. And no matter how much they can beg, there won't be a spin off. Poor Tom deserves to be able to break free and do something else.
I adore my friends here also, but currently, I barely recognize any of them :( If it gets picked up, we'll be covering Wonder Woman on OSCK and hopefully Superverses will become a new place to talk about that show. The good news is that at least we shouldn't have the insane pitting of ships against each other for it.
Fandom, and I've found this to be especially true of Smallville fandom, is a nasty nasty place. Instead of being able to come at things from different angles and enjoy different things I've found people are either one thing or another and if you're on the other side well that makes you fair game for bashing. That I dislike alot.
I totally understand your feelings about the Chloe/Ollie stuff but me I love it, I find they light up my screen when they are on. But thats me, it doesn't make you wrong or me wrong it makes us individuals.
Smallville is probably the reason why I avoid single series fandoms, that and BSG. People take it so seriously instead of enjoying it for what it is, fun. Pure escapist fun.
Star Wars in 3D though I can not wait for. Its very exciting!
I have to agree with everything you said. I think SV's fandom will thankfully unravel and go onto different fandoms. Problem is those same nutcases just fixate onto other shows and recreate problems as they go. YET... in other cases, some nutcases turn into misunderstood noodniks within other fandoms.
I'll be glad to see this fandom go away for a very long time.
