...and Quarter 1 is over.
My how time flies.
Overall the classes have been great and the teachers have been extremely helpful. After, 3 years at RIC I found where RIC dumped all the Photoshop/Illustrator/Freehand/Director classes in IT then the money ran out so I learned it piece by piece over the years, the classes now helped fill in the gaps.
It taught me one thing: Read the frikkin' instruction booklet for Aperture before you start posting photos. All of the photos on my photoblog will have to be reworked due to lack of sharpening in Aperture.
The
photoblog will be sputtering back to life shortly, I've took enough photos this quarter to last for a few months.
Thankfully the impact on my personal life has been next to nil. Beyond NaNoWrimo and rescheduling my vacation to July instead of August. NaNoWrimo 2009 may be a lost cause, I'll reserve judgement until 10/09 but if this quarter was anything like next year...
I dialed back to three classes for next semester as much as I would love to jump straight into Business Math, A) I want an extra day to breath and B) it would mess plans to go Skiing in February. B) is not so a must, A) is.
It also brings up questions of: How many classes do you actually want to do per semester? 3, 4 or 5?
NEIT Graphic Web Design has two tracks one for Graphic Design (Print) and one for Multimedia Web Design (Web). Four classes seperate the two. And, if one put their mind to it could probably get through both of them. The reason why I bring all this up is currently there is no Bachelor Degree, at least, not yet.
Depending on how much you hear from the teachers the Graphic Web Design Associates behind the scenes seems to be a constantly changing beast which while good could be bad since many of us seem to be getting in the ground floor.
I've mentioned in the past there's a Bachelor Degree in Digital Recording Arts Technology that one roll into once they are done with the Associates in Graphic Design and as much as I would find the DRA interestin' I hope a Bachelor's Degree opens up for Graphic Design.
The great news is most of the kids in my classes have been great. One or two are the peanut gallery that will be with us all the way until Gradation.
It's time to roll to math class, so far 95 on the first test, 85 on the second test, final next week. Tonight he's gonna try to shove trigometery down our throats. There's one thing I won't miss from this class, the fact the teacher has never arrived on time once, ever. He's a nice guy and gets the idea across with no problems, the fact he's driving in the deepest, darkest part of Mass is just annoying...
[Updated] I leave Panera after nomnomnoming down a Chicken Chipolte Sammich, class is at 545pm. I get there by 605pm and the teacher is right behind me getting into the elevator for class...
One more week of this...
