As some of you may be aware I spent 9 years of my childhood growing up on the family farm in Northumberland. Farming at the time was and I'm sure still is an all year round business, so trips away were limited to the annual family holliday, with one notable exception. The exception was the regular visit to the Royal Agricultural Show, in Stoneleigh near Kennilworth.
Sometimes this was just for the day others it was a few days away. Now to my young mind this was always a trip into the far south of the country. A trip where we got to try strange things like fizzy dandelion and burdock and the large variety of samples in the food hall. Days where he followed dad round the site picking up all the leaflets we could carry and filling ourselves with free drinks and crisps.
Why may you ask am I bringing this up. Well this year is the last ever Royal Show. It's on the 7-10 of july and I was thinking of going. Anyone fancy joining me?
