Dante was sprawled out on his stomach on the sofa, shirtless as usual and dressed in nothing but a pair of baggy jeans. He didn't even twitch or look up at the other's call. His blue eyes were unfocused and fixed on a point somewhere on the far wall, but the TV wasn't on and there wasn't anything to actually hold his attention there. His mind had gone from panicked to guilty to a strange mix of both. His body, however, was exhausted from the distinct lack of food getting less than two hours of sleep the night before.

God. He hardly ever worried, and here he was, thinking of all the terrible things that could've happened to Nero. He was really too clingy to family members than was good for his own health.

"No. I'm good," he answered, his voice small. He shifted his legs slightly to make room for his brother's body, but beyond that, there was no reaction.

When Dante barely moved, much less answered him, Vergil frowned. Not a sad frown, more of the usual annoyed frown that he did. This was a typical young adult thing, Nero would come back. He was just... he'd be back. Vergil just knew it. Or was it more hope? Of course it wasn't hope. He didn't like the kid anyway. Not one bit, let him leave. Like he cared.

What he did care about was his brother being like this. Since when did he say no to pizza? Or acted so... numb.

"Fine then. No pizza, but you're eating something." As he hadn't last night, nor this morning, and lunch... well Vergil had eaten, Dante was still being stubborn even then. It was just about dinner time and Vergil was not going to let him mope about and starve himself over an idiot child who couldn't handle a gay relationship.

"I'll force it down your throat if I have to." Vergil says, not before getting up and wandering into the kitchen again.

Normally, Dante would've made some snarky comment about how Vergil had turned so domestic or about getting hand-fed, but he only made a small, barely noticeable shrug of his shoulder. "If it's anything tasteless healthy, I'm not having it," he sighed, turning his head slightly to watch his brother leave. "No salads." Even when he was in a moping mood, Dante couldn't stand to have healthy stuff shoved down his throat.

"Of course not, your stomach might shrivel up if anything good for it got inside there." Vergil rolled his eyes, opening the fridge. Peeking around, he didn't see anything quick and easy to force in Dante's mouth. Grimacing, he closed that and opted to try the fridge. Easy, quick, and very unhealthy things lurked in here. Grabbing a small microwavable pizza, one that was only like two pieces of a normal one, he stuffed it into the microwave and let it heat up.

"I shouldn't even bother to ask if you're thirsty." he says, going into the fridge to grab a beer. Something that Dante will drink, no matter what. As the pizza went off he opened the microwave to fetch it. Getting a plate he set it on there and made his way back to the living room. Sitting beside Dante he offered him the food and beverage.

"Starving yourself won't make him come back you know."

Dante's stomach did growl at the scent of pizza and he glanced at the food when it was put in front of his nose. Feeling rather like a dog being given his food bowl, he reached out, took a slice and lazily stuffed a hunk of it in his mouth, but he chewed slowly and didn't seem to enjoy the taste at all.

At his twin's last comment, Dante glared at him sharply, his eyes suddenly focused and flaming. "I'm not starving myself, I'm just not hungry," he said sharply. "At least one of us should be worried for him."

Glad that Dante took the food to eat it, he watched him, not before the glaring eyes where put on him. His own eyes narrowed angrily when Dante spoke. Is that how he saw it? That he didn't care? Honestly, he'd thought Dante would know him by now.

"Why should I?" Vergil sneered, "Why should I bother my worry for someone who hates us?"

Dante flinched visibly from that tone. He hated it when Vergil used that tone, it was so hard to tell when he actually meant his hate and when he was faking it. Vergil was always the better actor out of the two of them... usually, anyways.

"We deserve it," he said finally, avoiding his brother's gaze. "We... should've told him." His voice was muffled by the pizza, but even so, it was soft and quiet, hardly anything like his normal loud, cheerful self.

Vergil merely crossed his arms over his chest, eyes still not any softer on his twin. Dante could be all mopey all he wanted, and could say what he wanted. In the end it wouldn't change anything, or bring Nero back.

"Should have told him?" Vergil scoffed, "So he could run off the first day he came here? Yes, that would have been so much better." he rolled his eyes. Vergil knew he was being an asshole, but he couldn't just be all upset over Nero running off. The boy was taking this way too hard. Honestly.

Dante looked at him again with frustrated, annoyed eyes, then turned back to stare at his invisible spot on the wall. He couldn't read Vergil in times like this, nor did he want to. He wasn't in the right mood to try and figure out how his twin's mind worked. "So what do you supposed we do?" he grunted, "Let him starve out there? He's just a kid, Ver."

"It would teach him not to be such a twit." Vergil was quick to reply. He knew why Dante was so upset over this. He couldn't honestly be angry at him for it... but he was.

"Do you really want someone who hates what we are, what we have together, living with us?"

"He's scared," Dante corrected, a little defensive. He tried to sound sure of himself, but he failed. "It's not normal, we both know that. Not that we care, but he kept thinking we were going to go off and marry some pretty babes." I should've corrected him way back when. But he was so amused by the thought that he hadn't, thinking that Nero's thought process would've been harmless ( ... )

"He's scared of something he doesn't need to be scared of." Vergil said, still annoyed by the whole thing, "I don't see why this surprised him so much. He was always calling me 'gay' anyway." much to his annoyance. He knew Nero had meant it in slander, not just in a teasing manner.

Vergil wrinkled his nose when Dante moved to nudge him, more so when Dante accused him of actually liking that brat Nero. As if. Why should he? "I do not." he all but growled out, "One less child to care for is fine by me."

Dante made a weird sound around a new pizza slice he had picked up. Chewing, he gave his brother a raised eyebrow, a look that the other often shot him. "...You are gay though, I don't know why you're so pissed," he pointed out, but there was the smallest hint of a chuckle in his words. He knew better than to laugh flat out though, Vergil could easily beat him into the ground if he stayed in his prissy mood.

Continuously feeling better with every bite of pizza he took, he sighed and leaned back on the sofa, sliding one lazy blue eye to his twin. "Whatever you say, Mom." He was fighting a flat-out grin now. Acting like Nero was kind of fun, and besides, Vergil had been less harsh on him with Nero around. CLEARLY, Dante wasn't as bad as the other thought. Or so Dante hoped.

"I am not gay." Vergil glared at him, "I would not like any other man... you are..." he hated to say this and sound all sappy, but, "... special." At least Dante was eating now, and seeming to enjoy his food. If he didn't he would have forced it down his throat.

Vergil bristled at being called 'Mom'. Nero did that all the damn time. "Call me that again and you'll be joining Nero." he threatened. As much as Vergil put on the grumpy act, and as much as he seemed to dislike Nero... he really was worried. Not that he'd ever let on.

Dante's white eyebrows disappeared even further into his brow line. "...So there's a sexuality specifically for me now? Nice to know." He WAS grinning now, even if he was trying not to. His brother said the strangest things sometimes when he was in complete denial, and yet... he was touched.

Leaning forward, Dante gave his twin a quick kiss that tasted very much like pizza. "Someone's gotta make sure you go outside and get some sun," he sighed, turning back to his pizza. He leaned his back heavily on his twin's shoulder, more to be annoying than to be affectionate. "Besides, you'll get all lonely and you'll need sex sometime."

"That's the easiest way to put it." Vergil said, giving him a look for that damnable smirk his twin had on his face. "Can you honestly see me liking anyone else enough to be interested in them this way?" which was the truth. If Dante hadn't started pushing for this sort of relationship, Vergil never would have done anything. Never would have had anyone else in his life. He could easily get along with people if needed, but in the whole disliked most everyone. Being in a relationship was something he'd resigned to never doing, until... well this.

Wrinkling his nose at the taste of pizza as his twin kissed him, Vergil rolled his eyes. Something he did way too often around Dante. "Getting some sun is highly overrated. I get enough." he grumbled, glaring at the back of Dante's head when he leaned back against him.

"Only you would think of that." Vergil shook his head, though wouldn't admit that he probably would crave physical needs if Dante wasn't around for long enough. The idiot had gotten him hooked on it.
