Otakon!

Aug 21, 2005 19:20

I just woke up. I beileve I have caught up on my sleep. You see, Friday night I didn't get any sleep because I was too excited for Otakon! Yes, otakon, the dorky anime convention that I wait all year for. In any case, so Saturday was otakon. As Rachel and I walked though Baltimore city dressed as animal monsters, we come across a peice of modern art... with a bum sleeping on top of it. So we took a picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kumosama/100_0179.jpg
So we when to the dealers room. Rachel and I bought about.... 10 hours worth of anime DVDs, some random merchandise and a set of three swords. Yeah. We got swords. They aren't of excelent quailty, I'm I'm sure I couldn't kill anybody with them (I'd break the sword sooner then I'd break skin!) but what do you expect for a 40 dollar set?
Then I went to the art room, where people sell their anime related artwork. I bought a print of this picture: http://druihd.staze.org/lonelysouls.html Druihd, the artist is absoulutlly amazing. I was so excited to her there, because I've seen her website and loved it. Her fanart looks just like the real thing!
So then we wandered some more.
Then we got in line to go to the voice actors panel. Where the auidence would ask voice actors queastion. We waited in line for about an hour and a half the the guy we came to see wasn't there!
So we wandered some more and left.
One our way out... the bum was still there.

Then... Heres the kicker. You've probably been bored reading about me in anime land, but you'll probably enjoy this. After the convention, we went to cheebuger, still dressed up, and guess who we saw there? Charles. Yeah. He was like "Liz!?! WTF!?!" So I explained. Rachel and I ended up playing with some children because they liked our ears and tails... Then we finished eatting early so we could walk around outside dressed like animal-monsters. And when we were outside guess who we saw. Donald, the 7th (accutally 8th) grader. I wasn't sure if it was Donald, but I knew it was somebody from that group. He was wearing a pink polo shirt, khaki shorts, a baseball cap and "that haircut". I'm think -nobody other then SJA 7th graders dress like that- and he was with a friend. So I called out to him. He stared at me for a minute and waved. I'm about 95% sure I embarassed the hell out of him.
