For those people, such as myself, who love learning about WWII:
Montford Marines: Few, Proud, Black. A very interesting article on CNN.com about the Montford Point Marines, the first African-American USMC in WWII. It's not an only an eye-opening article about racism in the United States Military, but about the forgotten legacy of those who were some of the first to break the barrier. The article also contains a picture slide show.
On other subjects:
Jon Stewart and the amazing folks at The Daily Show on Captian America, Congress, and Skunks with heads in Skippy Jars
here.
The Belgian Royal Family may be going yet another year without an actual government in its country, but at least they've got another Navy Officer in the
family.
The one post I always go to after a really annoying day at work. It's always nice to know
I'm not the only one. (And if you just have to use your cell phone while holding up the line at a register, at least say you're sorry and look your cashier in the face.)
In news I can't believe: They're already posting the back-to-school dates for NC on our local channel websites. I can't believe July is almost over. I also feel bad for the kids who go to school in the mountains, since they start on August 10th. (Char-Meck doesn't start until the 25th. Which is actually a really late start date for them.)
