So, the past 3-4 days I've been telling myself that my increasingly sore throat, full of snot nose, and general icky was allergies. It's high pollen right now. Everything is covered with a thick layer of green.
I woke up this morning, felt a little woozy, had trouble eating. Went to work, some how managed to surive the shift (with lots of tissues and hand sanitizer), then went to go see Hanna in which I realized a) I kind of have a fever and b) I am most def. sick. Which means, among other things, I am not allowed in the lower parts of the house.
However, let's talk Hanna
So, Matt hates seeing movies with me b/c he says I call it while watching a 1:15 second trailer. I tend to disagree with him, but um, yeah, I called this one when I first saw the trailer a few weeks ago when we went to see The Adjustment Bureau.
Best way to describe it? Um, Run, Lola, Run meets The Bourne Triolgoy meets Joe Wright's style for focusing on his actresses in nature scenes.
The movie was beautifully shot in places. It is FULL of violence. Like, will have you cringing in your seat, "oh my god did they just do that" violence. There are characters that will creep you the fuck out. One thing I do appreciate, with all the violence, everybody bleeds, nobody's the perfect never-hit-by-enemy-fire hero, and it's not so cartoon-y and Matrix-styled. There is a sense of grit there.
That being said, the cast did a superb job. Matt says he wasn't satisifed by the ending b/c there seems no real resolution for him, but I personally think they're setting it up for a second film.
The Chemical Brothers' soundtrack can be a bit much in some places, but overall it didn't take me out of the film.
I'm not in love with the film, but it was a good action filck with brains. I was never bored, checking my watch, trying to figure out when the movie ended.
Previews were pretty blah, but
The Conspirator is now high on my list of movies-to-see-next.
Let's see, other than that...I watched CSI the other night, Lady Heather was back, and, besides Greg, she really is my fav. character on the show. Even if she is Dr. Lady Heather Keller now. I missed Top Chef: Masters and Swamp People, but that's what the dvr is for.
P!ATD's Trade Mistakes is now officialy my new fav. song. I just can't stop listening to it. Alas, when they come to play the Filmore in CLT, I'm pretty sure I'll still be in Raleigh. Le sigh. They're playing Boston. Of course.
Hope everyone has a good night/morning/day/afternoon!
