I've been trying to get to work since 4:50 this morning. I can't get a cab to come out, my street, driveway and yard are nothing but a friggin' skating rink. I was supposed to be at work at 6am. well you know how charlotte is. we get a half an inch of snow and everyone freaks.

What kills me is this city actually knows what it needs to do with ice. There's at least one ice storm every single winter, it's not like it's a surprise. And they didn't do that. At 5:00am the roads were horrible and it wasn't until around noon that Sharon Road was clear.

Wow that sucks, at least you get to miss work?

We only have chilly weather and snow that melts as soon as it lands over here in Texas, so I'm kinda jealous :(

I mean, I woke up at 4:30 this morning to go to work, so it was def. a matter of annoyance by 10. And my paycheck next week is going to be teeny-tiny, since I've missed a total of 13.5 hours in the past two days. Still, can't really complain about a couple of days off.

The snow was pretty. Then we had freezing rain which froze the snow and the ice and the city didn't treat anything properly. It makes me miss Boston where, even when you got 6 inches dumped on your over night, the trucks were out doing their jobs.

I was wondering about you throughout the day. That totally sucks that you spent so many hours TRYING to get there. Grrrr.

We are expecting big snow tomorrow. I hope they cancel work. Good grief.

If the city roads were prepared, it wouldn't have been a problem, but they were, and yeah. So I've just lost two days of pay but at least I'll be well rested tomorrow.

And good luck! I hope your place does close/cancel. I know you guys are supposed to get twice the amount we got.
