Dear Band of Bros fandom, where are the Spina icons?
Seriously, I have fic to write with Spina background and I can't find any Spina icons. There were probably some, like, 5 years ago but these, I cannot find. Posted the complete background ficlet-thought thing on Snafu and Roe over at larks_still_fly. I wanted to get that out of the way before working on the South Philly Catholic School Boys of Bill, Babe, Spina, and Julian. Also must work on the Jones Family Thanksgiving. It was going well, then got screwed up. I'm basically taking everything out and starting for scratch.
In other news:
I don't go into work until 2:30 today and then only work for 4 hours. It's like a gift from god. I'm normally pulling 8 hours on Sunday, and it's our hardest non-stop, omg, do you NEED that much food and beer? days. I also have next Saturday off. I haven't had one of those since August. Mother is proposing Ren Fest. I say no, since I don't really have the money to go. Mother is enticing me with promises of buying me one christmas present and one birthday present. The woman is evil. It will depend on the weather. I think we'll be going. She's been more upset than I have that I said I'd skip this year. Possibly b/c of all the "you know, I really think moving back was a huge mistake" talks I've had these past few months. I'll just need to show willpower and not go anywhere near Heirloom Jewelry aka that place where I once dropped $70 on earrings alone.
Two of the four bookstores in the area are closing. Matt and I are sad but hardly surprised. Though the first words out of Matt's mouth where "Does this mean a massive bargain book buying?" Priorities, we have them. Seriously though, no one else gets how we enjoy hanging out in bookstores for hours. Look, some people bond over sports, at bars, at golf. Matt and I go through bookstores going "read it, read it, own it, sold it, ooooh, look at this one."
New MCR Song: Love the guitars. Really boys, are you planning on putting out all the tracks before the album is supposed to drop. At this rate, what haven't we heard? It is a good way to combat leaks I guess. Now if we could just get US tour dates. Not that CLT will be one, since no one comes here unless it's summer.
Still debating over going to the Pub's 20th Anniv. I think I'm going to bail. I work 6am-2pm that day, which means I'll be up at 4am. I just don't know if I can stand that many yuppies in an enclosed space. I know I should go for family's sake, but I'm going to be bone-deep tired. Which means my brain to mouth filter won't be working. Which means I will probably offend a lot of the people.
